Bow Design is now Ministry Graphics. Having been acquired, the Swansea based signs and graphics producer has an even bigger outlet for its undoubted talents…

Bow Design is very well known in the Swansea locale and in much wider circles for the quality of its work and its inventive, imaginative design. One of its clients liked it so much, he bought the company. So Bow Design now surges ahead under new ownership and sailing a new flag - it’s now Ministry Graphics.

In its new ownership, the company will have a wider outlet still for its talents. In other key respects, nothing much has changed. The ship is still helmed by Matthew Anderson and his very capable design and production team. And the company’s many customers can look ahead to the same high-octane creativity and get-it-done delivery that’s always been the case.

Getting out of the blocks fast, Matt and the team recently had a chat with a local commercial vehicle dealer with whom they’d worked in the past and suggested that its customers might quite like the idea of the vehicles they supplied being liveried and ready to roll without any further work on the customers’ parts.

Now there’s an idea. And it’s a good one.

The dealer liked the sound of what was on offer and the opportunity it presented to deliver an improved and more rounded service to his clientele. They decided to give it a go. The first clutch of vehicles to be subject to a little Ministry Graphics Magic belonged to Welsh Water. Design was prescribed of course. But making the eye-catching graphics - that was left to the Ministry team to figure out.

As well as having friends in the commercial motors business, Matt has one in the signs and graphics materials business too. It’s Metamark. Turns out that, whether by luck, judgement or design, the two colours needed to match Welsh Water’s gorgeous logo are core to the Metamark 7 Series range of cut and applied materials. All Matt and the team had to do was order the materials from Metamark and get the job done.

The ‘job,’ by the way, involved eight vehicles. And one weekend.

The Ministry Graphics production team made the required livery components from the supplied Metamark material and Matt, together with the fitting team, set out to get the job done and dusted. By the time the third of the eight vehicles was complete, the job had really hit its stride and the team sailed through.

The result’s stunning. Perfectly consistent from one vehicle to the next. Perfectly on-grid with Welsh Water’s strictly enforced and policed standards. And perfectly in mesh with what customers expect from Matthew Anderson and his colleagues - whatever it says on the sign above their door.
