D-Sign Studio welcomes back an old client with a new vehicle…
The last time that Jonathan Dudley and his team from Milford Haven based D-Sign Studio got their hands on anything to do with its client Jeff James, it rolled up in the rather racy-looking form of a highly competitive go-kart that the company was involved with. Needless to say, a great job was done and the client raced off delighted with the work. A great impression created is one that lasts and so, in need of more graphics, Jeff James has been back to D-Sign Studio.
On this occasion, the vehicle didn’t make the journey with the client and Jonathan was told he’d have to do the work on site as the recently refurbished subject of the needed branding would be ‘difficult’ to deliver to the D-Sign Studio workshop. The team didn’t have to wait long to have its curiosity satisfied as to why the vehicle couldn’t turn up in person, it was made pretty clear when they were shown pictures of a freshly painted and fettled excavator.
The team a D-Sign Studio has had its hands on all sorts of vehicles, but the excavator would be a first. The job wasn’t that complex, it only involved a nicely executed cut-and-applied logo in crisp lettering with a drop shadow. Nonetheless, it got the full D-Sign Studio treatment.
Excavators lead a very hard life and, with the exception of the area of the screen the vehicle’s operator needs to see through, are typically not subject to much in the way of spit and polish. Knowing the fresh orange flanks wouldn’t be free of battle rash for long, Jonathan turned to Metamark 7 Series and Metamark MD5 to furnish the logos where required on the monster digger. Cutting done. Next the application.
With graphics in hand, JD made the trip to the excavator and it was moved and manipulated so as to give him access to the parts he needed. Application was simple enough, with much of the fine detail having been taken care of back at base. In no time at all, it was possible to step back and see the applied graphics and assess the impact they’d delivered.
In a word or two, they look the part. Manipulated to fit where needed and designed with legibility in mind, the graphics correctly and conspicuously brand the orange monster and give it a well grounded ID that Jeff James & Son can be proud of. Another job done for D-Sign Studio and the most unusual they’re likely to see for a while…
Later that day though, the phone rang back at base. A new client. “Can you fit window tints to a harbour-going tug boat?” That raised a smile and moments later a job-sheet. “Yes,” was the reply.
