Signs Express South Durham delivers great looking livery and exceptional service…

The sign and allied industries are no strangers to the demands of customers who, often for good reason, leave the commissioning of signage and graphics to the last minute. While construction projects, contract exchanges and business opening days loom ever larger on the horizon, the signmaker needs to accelerate events to meet deadlines and deliver what’s needed, on-budget, on-point, and on-time.

Danny Pickersgill and his very capable design, production and fitting team at Signs Express in South Durham are no strangers to the situation either. With a combination of strong capabilities and a helping of expert project management though, the company can claim many notable successes that belong in the last-minute or fast-ball silos. 

Among them was a job that sprung up and into sharp relief from Mercedes, a job that South-Durham’s reputation for getting things done had earned them. The background to the job was a web of logistics that would ultimately, it was hoped, deliver over forty Mercedes Electric Sprinters to the NEC for an event launching the vehicle and training dealers’ sales forces. The only snag was the event was less than two weeks away when Signs Express South Durham got to hear of it.

What was needed was a promotional livery for each of the vehicles attending. The ‘fleet’ of over forty participating Sprinters comprised a variety of colours, so each livery needed to be looked carefully to make sure it’d work with the van it was destined to fit.

The design the team at Signs Express was given to work with was agency supplied and provided a good overall grounding. In terms of making it practical to apply to a vehicle with its curves, creases and panel breaks, work was needed. The Signs Express Team obliged. 

Production of the livery involved Metamark MD5 Clear and a very capable Epson SureColor printer equipped with Epson’s highly regarded white ink. The livery design and printer would allow the vehicles’ panel and paint colour to shine through unimpaired and the detail to stand in crisp relief off the paint. Such adventurous print constructions can never be relied upon to perform until applied, but in the case of the team’s Sprinter liveries they look nothing less than stunning.

Electric vehicles, like the new Sprinter, are big news these days and Signs Express South Durham’s share of the headlines sees the fleet delivered where and when the customer needed it and looking brilliant. The print quality is superb with the white ink where used do the job it was designed to so and the detail prevailing. MD5 Clear’s job was to look practically invisible - and it does. It would also be expected to remove cleanly. No problem there either.

Another job done and dusted by Signs Express South Durham. The company would not claim to specialise in last-minute-miracles, but the team is never shy when it comes to taking them on - and delivering.
