BEER IS BEAUTIFUL!

BEER IS BEAUTIFUL!

Metamark MDC helped Signs and Labels Hereford tackle a challenging wrap that came out looking beautiful…

Small brewers are pretty big news these days and they need to project personality and profile in equal measure to reflect the quality and stature of their brands. The Wye Valley Brewery has had a while to get things right. It’s been in business since the early 80s and its products are held in high esteem in the valley and beyond.  When the brewer needed a distinctive livery for a vehicle charged with merchandising its products, Signs and Labels Hereford got a knock on the door.

Signs and Labels has been in business a while too - it was set up about twenty years ago and prides itself on being an easy-to-deal-with family concern that cares about giving Herefordshire the very best in signage. It looks like it’s succeeding with its mission. The company has built itself an enviable reputation in the county and further afield.

Signs and Labels isn’t shy about promoting its capabilities and it attracts a very wide variety of work as a consequence. That includes wraps. Wraps come in all shapes and sizes but none of them is ever easy. The design or content can add another layer of complexity to the challenge quotient if the eye is guided over panels and junctions by involved design elements and then its not just design that distinguishes - it’s the skilled hands doing the application that makes the wrap work.

The Signs and Labels team was exercised by the Wye Valley Brewery livery thanks to its involving level of detail and complexity in terms of design. The wrap needed very precise application and the elongation required to make the flat design work in the 3D world had to be consistent and controlled. Did someone mention skilled hands?

The team at Signs and Labels elected to use MetaCast MDC and its matching MGC Laminate for the job. MD-Class print quality is a given and the product is compliant in the hand. The product also features a novel development in the field of pressure sensitive adhesives. MetaGlide supports effortless repositioning and yet builds to a reliable ultimate bond. Years after application however, the material can be removed without a trace.

Signs and Labels achieved a brilliant result for Wye Valley Brewery. The wrap is among those that transcend the purpose of branding and that actually turn heads. The closer it’s examined, the more of its detail is revealed and, thanks to the quality of the wrap’s application, getting close up simply isn’t an issue.

The wrap will achieve much for Signs and Labels’ client. It has personality and visual impact. It transforms a vehicle responsible for a very basic duty into a permanently baited hook that brings attention its way. It’s memorable and speaks powerfully for the brands.
