ILLUMINATING IDEAS FROM RAINFOREST GRAPHICS WITH MD-T
Rotherham based Rainforest Graphics’ eye-popping “#Oranguvan” is often seen and frequently pointed at as it goes about its business.
Martin Horst who runs Rainforest Graphics got a call from the Chamber asking for its exterior signing to be moved to new premises it was occupying. Martin and team attended the site, removed the sign that Rainforest had previously constructed and installed, did a little opportune maintenance and reinstalled the sign in its new home only five doors away from the old.
Some days later, another of Rainforest Graphics’ clients called asking for a new sign for new premises they were moving into. The address was familiar. It was the site of the Chamber of Commerce or rather its former home. Small world.
The client, Electrical Safety UK, needed an illuminated sign of sufficient dimensions so as to not look lost upon the large facia, and wanted its logo to feature in all its glory. With subtle shades of grey to render and gradation in a sweep of orange, printing the sign seemed the best solution available. Martin and the team turned to Metamark MD-T, a novel translucent self-adhesive material designed for light boxes and printed the appropriately edited design upon it.
The MD-Class material holds colour and detail brilliantly as the razor-sharp lettering and smooth grades attest. Expert management of the HP Latex printer used helps too. The sign case features a further translucent acrylic panel to which the print is mounted and is LED lit.
The result is a head-turning illuminated sign that radiates the brand of Rainforest Graphics’ client in a location where other works by the company have stood for years.
The printed MD-T greatly simplified production of a standout sign and avoids the use of tensioned elements. It works in daylight. It works at night. Another project successfully completed.
