THIS IS WHY WE WRAP, WITH METAMARK

A&N Signs produces a winning wrap that works on many levels…

A&N Signs is based in Rotherham and its work is well known in the locality and beyond. One of the company’s regular clients is Isopharm Laboratories, a company that specialises in decontamination and infection control in healthcare environments and which offers both training and products in the field.

A&N Signs had previously provided the company with graphics obscuring some of its premises’ windows functioning as both signing and a privacy measure. The latest commission arrived in the form of a brief to wrap one of the company’s vehicles. The brief came with a design proposed by Isopharm’s internal design department. It’s not unusual for designs from internal sources to need a lot of work to make them fit or to be wholly impractical as liveries. On this occasion though, the client had really ‘nailed it.’

The design works really well. Two very bold fields of colour define it, the blue of the glove and the orange geometry that defines the Petri dish. There’s a lot of white space around the detail and the type is simple and restrained. When the design is examined at closer quarters though, detail begins to reveal itself.

The Petri dish contains a biological colony of some sort and there’s a lot of subtle variation in the colour and plenty of detail. The glove too is swept in colour and density and, it’s revealed, sits on a knocked-back background of a laboratory environment. The detail just goes on revealing itself.

The print quality is remarkable. All that detail has to go somewhere of course and in this case it’s upon MetaWrap MDX-B. The MD-Class print quality really makes itself apparent in subjects like this. One the one hand you have deeply saturated and poppy advertisers’ colours, and on the other, the most subtle tones holding the subject together in the background. Application is flawless too. The printed panel extend to the van’s rear hinges - you’d never know it at a glance.

This is one of those relatively rare works where everything has just come together and the result speaks for itself. A&N Signs’ work has delivered a top quality livery that’s a study in best practices for livery application.
