Barnsley based Turner Signs pull out all the creative stops and deliver a livery that only looks like a high-end full-wrap…
Nothing impresses more than a brilliantly executed full van wrap unless it’s a really creative job that just happens to look like such a wrap. Future Gas came to Barnsley based Turner Signs with a new van in need of a livery. The gas engineering company works all over Yorkshire and Humberside and knows the value of having a branded vehicle on site. It’s not the first time they’ve been to Turner Signs and it’s not the first van they’ve put in the signmaker’s care either.
On this occasion it’d be very fair to say that the Team at Turner Signs exceeded expectations. The team delivered a livery contrived around an existing flame-like logo but instead of using flame-orange colourways, they took the cool route and came up with blue fades and tone.
The logo elements are supported by an arrangement of hexagons, each having its own fade which is swept in colour and density. The hexagons mesh in a pattern that dominates the lower portions of the vehicle and demonstrate a real mastery of colour control on the part of the Turner Signs team.
The hexagons easily lead the eye of the observer to conclude that they’re emerging out of a field of colour wrapping the whole vehicle. In fact, they don’t. Most of the field of colour that makes this excellent livery look so dramatics is the body paint colour of the vehicle itself. Other cut and applied elements in the design, the flame logo for example, sit isolated in surrounding panel colour but look for all the world like they’re elements of a total coverage print.
The job first surfaced on Turner Signs’ Instagram @turnersignslimited and got some very positive reactions from those who saw it. Out there in the wild, where vans have a job to do, this ‘part-wrap’ can consider itself a member of the ‘head-turners’ club - memorable vehicles that grab attention and really are distinguished from the pack.
The Turner Signs team chose MetaCast® MDC and its matching laminate for the job and that will have made the demanding colour control easier. The material has a really generous appetite for ink and resolves the very finest detail. It’s great to see the material’s capability really exercised by a very capable creative team.
Excellent job, Turner Signs.
