If you happen to be in Hampshire or its surround and you’re looking for great signs and outstanding service - you’ll find both at ADD Signs…
A good reputation is a very powerful thing and it’s precisely what ADD Signs, conveniently located in central Hampshire, has built for itself. Adam Smith and the ADD Signs team are known for their proven craft-based skills and design talents, and are praised by customers for the quality and value they deliver. Reputation isn’t just powerful though - it’s portable too.
One of the latest to hear good things about ADD Signs, and all it does, fell very conveniently into what you might call the friend-of-a-friend category of acquaintances. Said friend had a Modern Mine - a very nice one - but it was beginning to look a ‘little on the tatty side.’ Motivated to the extent needed to get something done about it, the owner found their way to ADD Signs’ door and made enquiries.
Ever positive and always brimming with ideas, Adam and team soon got the Mini’s owner in a positive frame of mind too. Things could be done with the Mini that would cheer it up and any number of creative options existed. The car was left with Adam practically on a ‘surprise me’ basis. ADD Signs was asked to cheer up the Mini and to use its imagination.
One thing that’s become hand-in-glove synonymous with the new Mini is roof graphics. There in the midst of all the graphical goodness and options that exist to give a Mini ‘the treatment’ is the Union Flag. Minis with flagged roof graphics look just great and it would do wonders for the subject of ADD Signs’ attention too.
ADD Sign being ADD Sign though, took the idea a little further. Instead of the regulation red-white-blue ensemble, Adam elected to go the subtle route. The result is a very classy interpretation of a great idea and a winning result for the car’s owner.
Adam reached for a roll of Metamark 7 Series in the classiest of restrained charcoal greys to contrast the flag detail with the car’s panel work. It’s a flag and no mistake but the colour-ways are genius. Proving yet again that shades of grey work all of the time, the flag motif is as crisp as crisp can be as it’s cut and applied and it really lifts the little car and its presence. The owner got an ADDed bonus upon collection. Bonnet stripes working along the sale lines as the applied 7 Series Graphic. ADD Signs’ work attracts admiring glances. It looks wonderful.
Everyone knows that there’s a place in all designers’ toolkits for a bit of less-is-more thinking. ADD Signs’ Mini is a living exemplar of the theory. Nice work.
