REMEMBER, WITH METAMARK

REMEMBER, WITH METAMARK

Signs Express (Newcastle) has produced a wrap for a fire engine recently unveiled in Morpeth and dedicated to the remembrance of all those who’ve died in past wars…

A wrapped fire engine displaying a livery featuring an evocative montage of poppies and soldiers’ silhouettes, together with text elements saying ‘Lest We Forget,’ has been produced and applied to a fire engine by Signs Express (Newcastle). The design for the powerful livery was supplied to the Signs Express team and was skilfully edited so that it meshed with the complex detailing of the vehicle. It was then printed in house on Metamark’s MetaCast MDC wrapping film, laminated with MetaGuard MGC and subsequently applied to the vehicle.

Signs Express Newcastle had undertaken commissions for the Fire Brigade and Northumberland Council previously, including vehicle work. The fire engine in question was to play a particularly important role in supporting events in commemoration of the remembrance of all who gave their lives in recent wars and, in particular, the centenary of the end of the First World War. It was a fitting and moving backdrop to events.

War veterans and persons serving with the Armed Forces and the Emergency Services were joined by the public and by council members at a service in the grounds of County Hall, Morpeth dedicated to all those who have given their lives in past wars and in recent and current conflicts. The work of Signs Express and the fire engine added its own accent to the occasion and radiated the sentiment behind its timeless message to all in attendance. Wreaths of poppies were laid and a lone bugler played the Last Post.

The Chief Fire Officer of Northumberland said “The remembrance wrap showcases our support and our respect not just for those who made the ultimate sacrifice, but also those that have and those who are still bravely serving in The Forces.”

An occasion so moving and so significant in its timing need little in the way of support to underscore its magnitude or its message. The fire engine evokes feeling and memories personalised to every individual who sees it. Given its poignant message, Lest We Forget, it provides a very powerful stimulus ensuring we Remember.
