Cornwall based Freedom Signs delivers some stunning wall graphics to a local college. Move over magnolia emulsion paint…

You’d need to travel to Cornwall if you want to catch up face-to-face with the team at Freedom Signs but the company’s work is much more widely distributed. Freedom Signs arose from the debris the pandemic left in its wake. Having found themselves at a crossroads in the midst of economic pressures and turmoil, ‘forward together’ seemed the best option and a merger of sorts gave Freedom Signs its momentum. Having got the word out, some interesting and attractive work and new clientele have found their way to the door.

Truro and Penwith College was among the most recent respondents. Recognised officially as one of the country’s best colleges, Truro and Penwith consistently outperforms in the rankings and in performance terms finds itself in the top 4%. The only Cornish provider to offer the new Technical Levels, the college is opening a new, high-tech engineering building. Freedom Signs was called in to provide finishing works including ambient graphics to nullify what would otherwise be huge expanses of good old magnolia emulsion paint.

The team at Freedom Signs worked with the college’s resident designer to develop a range of wall graphics with an engineering emphasis. The designs recognise that the audience passes corridor walls on foot and centres on a theme linking network-like lines with pictures and text-based engineering philosophy. The result emphatically proves that wall graphics can displace acres of paint effectively and also radiates a sense of mission wholly at home in the new building. 

The team at Freedom Signs reached for Metamark Materials to produce its winning wall murals. MD5-H, the high tack version of Metamark’s flagship MD5 digital media did its usual job of delivering exemplary print quality to the works and, given the bumps and bashes the expertly applied graphics would endure, it’s all safely covered with a protective layer of MG-702 Laminate.

We something looking vaguely like business as usual now prevailing, Freedom Signs looks forward to a bright future delivering its products and services in the locality and beyond. Given the production technology available, the materials at its disposal and the creative depth the team brings to the table, anything seems possible.
