Sign Services Wales Ltd takes Metamark M7 and delivers a novel approach to facia sign manufacture. The results are brilliant.
Cardiff based Sign Services Wales Ltd is no stranger to fabricated sign production and has an extensive nationwide clientele who turn toward the company for a range of bespoke signing and digital print. Sign Services’ product range includes printed wall coverings, vehicle liveries and window and floor graphics. The company has also cut itself a growing niche in stand-off lettering and fascias.
Tom Spurrier and the production team at Sign Services were recently approached by a long-term client needing a fascia signing solution. A recent round of acquisitions had meant that much of the acquired estate needed new signing to substitute for old. The specification mandated a white ACM tray with stand-off lettering in a very particular shade of blue.
Traditional production would see the fabrication of a routed tray, and provision of either key-coloured plastic lettering on stand-offs or stove-enamelled aluminium delivering the required structural integrity and durability needed. That all comes at a price of course.
To help with the economics of the large job, Sign Services developed a very practical and effective solution. The tray was conventionally constructed from white ACM and the lettering from profile cut ACM with a black core. Metamark M7 Sign Vinyl in the precise shade of blue the client needed was then expertly applied by the Sign Services team to the letter faces, so yielding the exact colour needed in a pristine finish thanks to the smooth ACM substrate.
In use, the lettering will endure anything wind and weather throws at it. This is thanks to the poly-cored substrate and the seventy microns of protection and colour that comes as standard with every roll of Metamark M7. In summary, the whole delivery and concept gives the end user the finish they wanted, at a price they were happy to pay. It also scores as another very marketable talent that Sign Services Wales Ltd. can claim.
