D-Sign Studio gets to grips with some unusual origination and a roll of Metamark M7.
We all love repeat business. That customer who returns for another helping of what he or she had bought previously as a register of their satisfaction. Jonathan Dudley at D-Sign Studio in Milford Haven recently welcomed one of his old customers back for a new vehicle livery on just such a basis.
On this occasion, the happy customer didn’t want exactly what he’d been served some fifteen years earlier. He’d got a new van, and he’d got a new logo to go with it. He knew what he wanted - big and impressive. He knew where it wanted it - all over the sides and the back of the vehicle.
He knew Jonathan and the team at D-Sign Studio could do the job but the only reference or origination he could offer was the logo on the T-Shirt he was wearing. All signmakers have to confront a bit of sub-optimal art sometime and on this particular day it was D-Sign’s turn. T
hrough the magic of a mobile phone, and some deft on screen digitising, a workable vector was created. Fifteen years ago, panel breaks and creases would have been something to avoid. Now though, with a roll of Metamark M7 gold in reserve, no area of the panel work was out of bounds.
Jonathan cut the super-sized logos and then applied the M7 around all of the van’s ups and downs and ins and outs. With a bit of added info-lettering the job was done and LPS Builders now has a rolling advertisement that is seen by many.
Gold M7 delivers a quality contrast with the van’s white flanks but it’s the scale that impresses. Panels are there for the vehicle manufacturers’ purposes.
These days, thanks to quality materials and expert application brands can be promoted big-time.
