Jonathan Dudley and team at Milford Haven based D-Sign Studio know a thing or two about producing wrap graphics…
When your working day involves fitting tyres to vehicles of all shapes and sizes it follows that you’re going to come into contact with quite a few. If you’re doing it in the vicinity of Milford Haven, some of those vehicles are practically certain to have been treaded to livery work from D-Sign Studio. Liking what they’d seen, RoadX Tyre made its way to D-Sign Studio looking for some livery work for its own vehicles.
The design was prescribed so it fell to Jonathan Dudley to perform the fine tweaks so that it would fit the target vehicle properly and then print and fit the graphics. It ended up being a real head-turner that promotes the interests of D-Signs’ client brilliantly. There’s also a bit of hidden depth in the construction that speaks to D-Sign’s experience.
Under the stunning livery is a white vehicle, now covered in Metamark’s next-generation premium cast wrapping film - MetaCast MDC. The wrap comprises discrete, printed MDC elements where solid colour falls but the areas of the van where the detail sits in a field of white, they’ve been treated differently using a technique that’s both clever and creative.
Detail in the white areas was printed on MetaCast MDC’s matching cast MetaGuard Laminate. This was subsequently laminated in a second MetaGuard layer so encapsulating the ink between two transparent layers. This assemble was then fitted to the vehicle so creating poppy-looking graphics in a field of white comprising the vehicle’s own paint.
The result looks sensational.
Being seen is what vehicle livery is all about and there’s no doubt at all that, thanks to D-Sign’s work, RoadX has a mobile billboard promoting its business that’ll do more than earn its keep. The livery is a great exemplar of modern livery work too. Detail isn’t constrained by panels or lines. It uses the whole vehicle to great effect.
