THE HEAT IS ON

THE HEAT IS ON

Today’s pressure sensitive adhesives, particularly those that Metamark has developed and which feature on its wrapping films, sign vinyl and digital media, are remarkable. They’re tolerant of a wide range of application conditions, they make positioning applied graphics easy and they build to a ferocious ultimate bond while remaining clean and easy to remove.

If anything’s going to upset an adhesive, it’ll be trying to stick it on something that’s designed to release it, or trying to get it to work outside of its specified temperature range. Keep things clean and our adhesive will not let you down. Keep an eye on temperature too and you have a recipe for very reliable applied graphics.

Temperature, in the context of wrapping, is very important. You don’t want the application surface’s temperature to be too cold. You’ll be warming the material - but not too much. You’ll be fixing things in-situ by post-heating and that needs to be right too.

Metamark’s got a couple of star tools in its Wrap Tools catalogue to help with all this. If you’ve not got a copy of the catalogue yet, we’ll send you one. Mail us at sales@metamark.co.uk and it’s as good as delivered. In there you’re going to find a couple of non-contact thermometers - digital ones. They’re point and shoot solutions for monitoring temperature and they work BRILLIANTLY.

Non-contact means just what it says. You can point the thermometer at the object you want to measure without touching it and pull the trigger. The magic then happens and you’ll get a practically instant digital read-out confirming the temperature of the object you’re pointing at. Once you’ve tired of pointing it at body parts and into ears, you’ll find it an indispensable tool when you’re wrapping or applying graphics.

At a glance, you can see if a surface is too cold to adhere applied materials. You can ensure you don’t blow holes in your print when you’re warming it. Once applied, you can raise the temperature of your graphics to stabilise them and ensure application is reliable. Every wrapper should have one. Or two.

We’ve got a couple of great non contact thermometers in our range. There’s a basic budget model that works perfectly and a higher specified one that’s got a few more bells, whistles and buzzers. We even throw in an extra year’s warranty with our fully specced version. That’s another great reason to get your tools from Metamark.

Don’t leave things to chance where temperature is concerned. Leave it to Metamark to deliver the tools you need to get the job done and get it done right.
