NEW SIGNS FOR OLD WITH METAMARK'S MD5

Swansea based Daniel Signs put some Metamark materials to good use and gave a client’s sign a new lease of life…

Daniel Signs is well known in Swansea, and further afield, having been in the business of signs and graphics design and production for over twenty years. In that time, they’ve picked up and now service the needs of an impressive clientele. There, in its midst, is Days Motor Group.

Now in its ninety-third year in business, Days is Wales’ longest established family-run dealer group and is distributed over a number of sites in the region and representative in a diverse collection of businesses including rentals. Daniel Signs has provided Days with its signage needs for many years and the latest to pop up was a bit of a change from business as usual. The client wanted an old monolithic sign publicising Ford, removing, repurposing and relocating. All in a day’s work at Daniel Signs, so the team set to work.

The first thing that needed to happen was getting the old Ford logo on its acrylic pan back to its owners. That happened and of course left a gaping void in the sign structure. This was promptly filled with a replacement acrylic fold-over featuring the Days Motor Group’s logo.

The rest of the sign structure, which was a bit weathered to say the least having endured outdoors for years, then needed attending to. The Daniel Signs team elected to wrap the signing structure, which was basically sound, with Metamark 7 Series silver vinyl rather than strip and re-coat or paint the metal. The 7 Series is sufficiently opaque to cover and did an amazing job, as did the Daniel Signs application team, of getting the old sign covered in its new clothes.

Next the graphic detail. Daniel Signs used printed and laminated MD5 for the job and applied the detail to the wrapped sign - job finished. It looks sensational - AND new. All that then remained was to site the sign in its new home. The world’s saved some resources. The client’s saved some money. Daniels signs has delivered a bit of a win for all of us.
