Anyone who puts ink on self-adhesive films will have a relationship of one sort or another with laminates. There are those who think of laminates as contributing little more than cost to a job and of offering nothing more than a means to protect delicate inks; and there are those who’ve discovered Metamark laminates - laminates that do more.
Mechanically Matched. Metamark MD-Class printable digital media are complemented by a range of MetaGuard Laminates. These laminates put a healthy handful of micron of physical protection between your ink and an uncaring outside world and so keep jobs looking better longer, but they’re also mechanically matched to the films they protect. That means that they don’t materially alter the soft-handle of our media and that in turn makes it just as easy to apply as it is unlaminated. Our laminates make your graphic “pop” too. Colours look saturated, resolution razor-sharp. Forget the “need” to laminate. When you see the difference that MetaGuard makes - you’ll “want” to laminate.
Ultimate Protection. All laminates protect against the inevitable battle-rash that printed graphics have to endure. Some do more though. Take Metamark’s MG-850 for example. It covers your prints with a layer of virtually inert PVDF. All you need to know about this material-miracle is that it’s practically insoluble and so it shrugs off graffiti. It can be wiped clean of most things it’ll come into contact with. No wonder then that Metamark customers around the world are using it to protect all sorts of stuff, and not just prints.
Wipe Clean laminates have a huge range of applications. You’ll think of dozens of profitable and practical ways that you can use our MG-205 and our MG-206 laminates. That’s because you can write on them with dry-wipe pens and then wipe what you’ve written off without a trace. Why would your customers want a little white board in the corner of a meeting room, when you can turn a whole wall into a wipe-clean surface complete with custom graphics reflecting brand and mission? We don’t know either!
Functional laminates impart all sorts of interesting behaviours. If you check out the laminates section of the shiny new Metamark website, you’ll find non-slip laminate systems for floor graphics, all sorts of finishes for all sorts of applications and more beside. We’re particularly proud of the adhesive system our laminates feature. It’s crystal clear - the lab-guys call it “water white.” When it’s in touch-down contact, it visually vanishes. It’s still there though and it does a brilliant job.
UV Inks? Lots of laminate ranges forget that there’s lots of UV printers out there. Not ours. If you’re laying down UV ink, the very next thing you’ll want to do is lay down MG-UV. It’s specially constructed to adhere to UV inks and confer the major-league protection your graphics need. Not tried it? You should.
Digital Décor. We got some pretty clever textured laminates for decor too. They’re as inviting to touch as they are to look at and add textile-like textures to your prints. Serious protection never looked this good. Or felt it either. You’ll be wanting a sample of that too.
