BLOWN AWAY BY MG-702 AND METAMARK CRYSTAL ETCH
Egg On Legs Design is based in Sheffield. Like many others it may be cast in the role of a signmaker but unlike most it's a design-led company with deep creative reserves and expertise in photography. Metamark supplies Egg On Legs with the materials it uses and Egg On Legs makes full use of the creative potential Metamark delivers as standard.
 
Egg On Legs' work can be seen all over the locality in Sheffield and beyond. Good news travels and the company has found a niche among a clientele that puts a premium on design and quality. The signs the company produces are inventive and the execution top class. Many are for new businesses seeking to establish themselves and an identity in a crowded marketplace.
 
Think "mobile hairdresser" and, naturally enough, vehicle livery comes to mind. Not on this occasion though. Two mobile hairdressers who'd very recently settled into permanent premises came to Egg On Legs looking for an identity having also settled on "Be Blown Away" for the name of their budding new venture.
 
Marc Ward and team at Egg On Legs proposed design centred around dandelion heads and brought the motif to life using Metamark Crystal Etch effect films on the shop's windows. "Weeding was a bit of a challenge," says Marc. "The very fine detail and fragile nature of the graphic took a bit of effort but the material lived up to everything Metamark claims for it."
 
The fragile dandelion seeds on the shop's window catch the available light and contrast with the surrounding matter. Despite being easy to see, the graphics still admit most of the available light into the shop and provide visitors and passers-by with views out, and into the premises.
 
Egg On Legs provided the needed elements for the hairdressers' shop's fascia signing too. The fascia is a study in material contrasts used to creative effect. Metamark MG-702 Matt Laminate was used. The highly reflective lettering is sat in a field of matt material making it "pop" and adding an almost dimensional quality to the whole ensemble.
 
Blown Away? The shop's signing and window graphics appear to have that effect. As well as attracting customers, Egg On Legs' work attracts compliments too. The signing puts Be Blown Away firmly on the map and gives the business a quality look and feel in which Metamark materials have played a part.
