FESPA has grown to become one of the world’s pre-eminent events promoting and supporting the signs and graphics manufacturing industry and the organisation’s European events succeed in attracting visitors from around the world. This year’s FESPA Global Print Expo was in Munich and Metamark was there.

FESPA showcases new technologies to the world a long time after heads meet and inventive ideas are born. By the time a new printer, for example, shows up at FESPA, its manufacturers will have had years to deliver the refinements it brings to the market and even longer to get the science done if any invention is required.

Much the same things holds true for Materials Manufacturers like Metamark. There’s little point in a printer manufacturer developing hardware that pushes media beyond its known limits and so development begins early. Metamark is used as a quality reference stock by print manufacturers and so MD-Everything was much in evidence at FESPA in Munich this year, as per previous outings.

Metamark products are marketed, sold and supported around the world by a network of the most respected distributors to the sign and allied industries. FESPA this year represented another opportunity to meet with many of them to review recent developments and product introductions, and to introduce new developments in the Metamark products pipeline.

Metamark is making progress with development work that increases the scope of applications our media and Sign Vinyl are used for, and we’re continually striving to make our products more user friendly and robust so as to resist handling issues. We’ve flagged these emergent technologies with our partners and will be soon making broader announcements.

FESPA is also a draw that attracts signs and graphics producers in considerable numbers from the UK and further afield. Metamark got to meet many of its UK based customers and to hear from them regarding the reception of recent Metamark product introductions. The one that’s exercised us, and our customers them most is the expanded 7 Series Range.

The feedback we’ve had from the UK market and from those we met at FESPA has be supportive of our overall intent in launching the new range, and very enthusiastic of the uptake it has accomplished. The new colours we’ve added and the back-room processes that make this the best Sign Vinyl we’ve every produced fully support the case for making a good thing even better.

Green’s an important colour in the Metamark swatch which is why we were happy to share an insight regarding our conversion processes with those who have an interest in such details. We now ‘convert’ materials off the production plant at our Lancaster HQ with barely a hand touching the material. We’re also moving away from the practice of taping materials to the core that they’re wound on. We’re saving time, energy and physical resources.

FESPA was a good event for Metamark and it was great to catch up with so many of our partners and customers.
