Future client shows its technical and creative skills with a stunning Mini-Wrap that’s turning heads in the South West…

The South Hams is a particularly lovely part of the UK and home to some of the best bits of the South Devon coastline too. It’s also home to Futureclient, a signs and graphics producer of some note that’s made its home in Kingsbridge, a charming little town at the end of an estuary that very occasionally ventures into the town’s busy high street but is more often just sat there looking its photogenic best. 

Futureclient has built itself a well-deserved reputation in the town and beyond for the quality of its work and that attracted the attention of a client, a Totnes resident who works in Kingsbridge, who had a convertible Mini that’s on something of a personalisation journey.

The car came to the team at Futureclient with Union Flag mirror caps, among other bits and pieces, pointing the way toward the next step in the plan - a wrap. Minis are no strangers to patriotic wraps, but this example ruled itself out of bounds in terms of having something done with the ubiquitous flagged roof - it’s a convertible so that would not work.

The team at Futureclient proposed a design that dominates the vehicle’s flanks with the flag element and that uses the bonnet to great effect to display colour-keyed stripes that resonate with the flag and that also manage to scream “performance.” The whole ensemble really works. It certainly succeeds in looking like a fully subscribed member of the breed, but it’s highly individual too.

Further accentuating the individuality, the car exhibits is the finish. The wrap is matte. It drinks in the light around it, the graphics as a consequence really pop and the head-turning effect achieved gets a bit of a lift too. Do we see enough matte graphic wraps? Probably not if exemplars of technical and creative merit like this one are to be asked to answer.

Futureclient printed its design using an HP360 Latex printer on Metamark’s premium cast wrapping film, MetaCast® MDC. The HP and MDC play well together despite the high drying temperatures the printer dishes out. The printed wrap is laminated with MDC’s matching stablemate, MGC, a mechanically compatible premium cast material - in matte, as we’ve established.

Application deserves a mention. The Mini has its challenges being a curvy little thing and flags don’t tolerate poor alignment or over-energetic elongation well. This application looks about as good as it gets and it’s an absolute credit to the skills that are to be found at Futureclient. 

The Mini is out in the wild now and getting looked and pointed at wherever it goes. Futureclient’s customer is nothing less than delighted with the job and with her celebrity-calibre car which must be a bit of an event on wheels in a place like Kingsbridge.
