REACH Regulation [EC 1907/2006] The REACH Regulation [Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals] of the European Union was adopted to improve the protection of human health and the environment from the risks that can be posed by chemical substances, and came into force on June 1st 2007. It concerns the use and management of substances manufactured and marketed in the EU.
It is our policy is to ensure full compliance with REACH regulations, through our roles and obligations of the REACH process, as a downstream user. We have been in contact with our suppliers to ensure they are fully aware of, and understand their obligations under REACH.
In accordance with REACH [Article 33] we must provide our customers with sufficient information to allow safe use of any product [article] containing a SVHC’s [Substances of Very High Concern] in a concentration above 0.1 % (w/w). This information will be provided if requested by customers. The current list of products and substances affected are included in this declaration.
Where we are importing articles from outside the EU, and the supplier has not appointed an ‘Only Representative’ in the EU, then we will take appropriate actions necessary to ensure continuation of supply of those articles.
Please be assured that we will continue to work closely with our suppliers and monitor the requirements for registration of the materials delivered to us, and in this way ensure availability of our products.
Metamark & REACH - 01/2024 An updated version of the official candidate list for Annex XIV of the REACH regulation (EC 1907 /2006) has been published by the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) in January, 2024. This list can be found on the ECHA-website (http://echa.europa.eu).
In accordance to article 33 of the REACH regulation, any supplier of an article containing a substance on the list in a concentration above 0,1% (w/w) shall provide the recipient with sufficient information to allow safe use of the article including, as a minimum, the name of that substance.
Metamark UK informs that the articles mentioned in annex 1 do not contain, in a concentration above 0,1% (w/w), any substance included on the candidate list (status: January, 2024) set out according to article 59 (1,10) of the REACH regulation.
However it is not always possible to preclude low level raw material or film contamination of substances included on the candidate list and this might result in films containing such substances at trace level. Analysis of such substances does not necessarily form part of our quality control system.
Following our information, the packaging materials of our articles do not contain any substances included on the candidate list (status: January, 2024).
