COOL CUSTOMER. COOLER VAN WITH MDC.
It’s not likely that anyone reading this is going to challenge the idea that vehicle liveries as a means of advertising businesses and products work. As we’re fond of saying, around six thousand sets of eyes an hour are reported to see livery advertising when vehicles are out and about on business, and that makes them conspicuous to say the least. Do the numbers. It also makes vehicle advertising very cost effective.
Signs Express, Bath, recently reaped some of what it had sowed when a new customer who’d seen the Bath-based signs and graphics producer’s own vehicle out on the road called. Bath does a great job of pulling in tourists and, thanks to some other great work by the Signs Express team that we’ll share some time, so does the customer’s ice cream shop.
The customer in question was very happy with the work Signs Express, Bath, had delivered and so, having acquired a van, he returned to see if he could give it the personality needed to further promote his business. One small snag was, he wanted the job turned around with great haste to make the most of the stunning weather gently baking Bath and other areas of the UK at the time.
Joseph Esposo and the team at Signs Express responded with a design proposal that would transform the supplied ‘vanilla’ vehicle into a totally wrapped and branded pink version of itself. It’s a very nice shade of pink and exactly matches what the customer wanted. Sadly, it didn’t match any available material suitable for doing the wrap.
The Signs Express team introduced its Epson Wide Format inkjet printer to a roll of Metamark’s next-generation premium cast wrapping film, MetaCast MDC and printed the required base colour for the wrap. The MD-Class result is stunning. There’s not a print artefact anywhere disclosing the material’s printed origins. It’s perfect. The graphical elements were also printed on MDC and then contour-cut for application to the applied laminated MDC substrate.
Ease of applications is something MetaCast MDC is well known for and we give thanks to its MetaGlide Adhesive for that. Introduce an easy-handling material to the skilled hands you’ll find at Signs Express and great things happen. The team only had a day to get the job done, but they delivered.
OEM van finishes don’t typically include pink so the finished vehicle is exceptionally rare in addition to being exceptionally eye-catching. It pulls eyes toward its owner’s brand and does a brilliant job of promoting it. It says something about Signs Express Bath too. A day isn’t a lot of time, but, in the hands of the right team, it can deliver a lot of positive impact.
