Problem Solving - Print Quality

Problem Reason Explanation
Specks in print Dark specks are caused by Ink collecting around debris. White specks are caused by ink dispersing. Dark specks are caused by ink collecting around dust or debris. White specks are caused by ink dispersing around contamination, sometimes from the printer itself, such as metallic dust off print carriage or ink contamination. In either instance it is not normally a media issue. Remove any potentially contaminated layers of media, check for visible contamination or film defects, and feed again.
Poor colour accuracy Incorrect profiling. Check profile is correct for the latest Ink, RIP and printer updates.
Blurred Image Poor file ‘image rendering’ or ‘image sampling’ Some image quality problems can find their origins in the original file (image rendering); or the way it was edited, (image sampling). It is far better to start with a high quality file than to print a poor file at high resolution.
