Alternative ICC Colour Profiles
 

When a specific ICC Colour Profile is not available, it is still possible to achieve very good results on Metamark products using alternative profiles, as described below. The right profile will achieve the right quality, conversely, if you are already achieving good results, it is less critical to get the right profile. For all these it is important to always test a sample first.
 
 
Metamark MD5 Profile
Start by trailing the product using the Metamark MD5 profile. Metamark profiles are high quality and each one is fully developed and tested. As such the Metamark MD5-100 profile is normally an excellent place to start on many products if we don't have the right profile.
 
Generic Profiles
These profiles are already installed in your RIP. They are designed to work on a range of products. Such profiles may be described as Banner, Photo Paper Gloss, Glossy Vinyl, etc.
 
Alternative Manufacturers Profiles
Many Metamark products will give very good results on a profile for a similar product by an alternative manufacturer. It is worth downloading a range of profiles from your RIP manufacturer and testing these to see what results they give.
 
Achieving the right colours
If you are printing an image and not achieving the desired colours, it is worth trialing a few different profiles to see which gives the best results. This can be useful for printing photo images on Canvas for example.
