An Inventive Leap with Metamark

needs in term of easy application and the product's durability requirement, Metamark proposed that the poles were wrapped with its M7 SignVinyl, an advanced, 70 micron high performance calendered film with impressive durability characteristics and tolerant handling.

To improve durability, finish and performance still further, Metamark recommended that its MG500 laminate be applied to the now coloured pole. This laminate adds 200 microns of super tough, textured protection to the pole which testing confirms is enough to shrug off the effects of anything from prolonged exposure to weather and collisions with horse and rider.

The outcome is a better jumping pole. It's washable unlike wooden ones, exceptionally long lasting, colourful and available in huge variety to suit all needs. It's easier to handle too, with the textured laminate providing a sound grip even when wet. Professional Jump Poles is understandably proud of its product which has been jumped and endorsed by the country's top
show jumper, Michael Whitaker and it has legions of popular support too from schools and competing teams. From Metamark's point of view, it’s another demonstration of the versatility of self adhesive PVC and the enduring quality that can be expected when technical leadership and innovation produces a product that's a fit for an incredible range of applications - By Design.

Paul's inventive leap over the traditional jump pole is centred around a hollow, uPVC pipe which has the required lateral stiffness, inherent strength and impact resistance to fulfil the basic requirement. In manufacture, the pipe is fitted with a wooden insert and various measures are taken to ballast it to the required weight before it's capped. Professional Jump Poles can therefore offer the poles in a variety of weights to suit the differing needs of training and competition markets.

Having made a better pole, Paul Spencer set about improving on the traditional method of colouring jumping poles with a paint finish and found his way to Metamark. Having considered the company's
